On Saturday, April 8, 2017, we bid a fond (and temporary) farewell to our beloved building as we prepare for its renovation and expansion.
Karen K & the Jitterbugs provided lively entertainment for the newborn, toddler, and elementary school-aged set during the morning. At night, the 21+ crowd enjoyed the music of The Andersons, Lord Hobo beer, and Clover Food Lab’s creative fare. Among the guests were two generations of H. H. Richardson’s direct descendents, one of whom is a local librarian. They told us that H. H. Richardson, the architect of our national historic landmark, threw epic parties in his heyday. We like to think he would be proud of the celebrations in honor of his masterpiece.
Thank you to everyone who came out for one last look of the emptied library, and we look forward to welcoming you to our temporary space at 36 Cummings Park starting on April 18!
