There is a new feature of the Library addition to see – Archives exhibits! Seven exhibit cases situated on the Library’s mezzanine highlight some of the remarkable manuscripts and three-dimensional objects in the Library’s Glennon Archives. We currently have an eclectic mix of objects on display that include a lantern slide projector and slides, puppets from the Library’s 1950’s Children’s Room puppet shows, Japanese dolls from the Woburn Kiwanis Club Good-will Project in Japan, a shovel used in the construction of the Middlesex canal, a WW1 doughboy’s uniform and equipment, and a sea captain’s hat. Our plan for the future is to have rotating exhibits in the cases. Coming next, to celebrate our new library and the library’s storied past, is a history of the Woburn Public Library!
