Longtime residents are invited to build community ties by sharing a meal with those from the newer immigrant community.
The goal of #WoburnUnites Through Cultural Connections is to build ties between Woburn’s longtime residents and the newer immigrant community using food and conversation as a basis for people to learn about the different cultures represented throughout the community. The project will start with a Cultural Connections Dinner the evening of Tuesday, October 16. To encourage cross-cultural learning and to welcome newcomers, there will be 50 seats available to recent immigrants and other newcomers (contact Elaine Dougherty at the International Learning Center | 781-935-6499 | firstname.lastname@example.org to register) and 50 seats to residents of Woburn who have been here longer. Attendees will sit at tables arranged to ensure they have a chance to talk to people they don’t know. Dinner will be provided by local caterers and restaurants to reflect a variety of ethnic foods. This is the first of several events.
This is a FREE event, but registration is required. Click here to learn more and to reserve your seat at the table.
