Welcome to Meet the Librarian Monday, where each week we will highlight one of our awesome WPL librarians! This week’s featured librarian is Suzanne, who’s one of the first faces to greet you at the Circulation Desk. She’s happy to help, no matter how small the question — even if it’s asking where the book drop is.
Who are you and what do you do? Hi! My name is Suzanne and I work at the always buzzing Circulation Desk of the library. Libraries are a second career for me… I left my full time job in marketing when my children were very young in 2004. I’ve been working in libraries ever since, arriving in Woburn 7 years ago.
What’s your favorite part of your job? My favorite part of the job is two-fold: I love meeting new people and talking books; helping people find their next great read and I love getting to work in this building. I fell in love with this Library on my very first interview here (way up in the attic offices) and have loved watching it be restored to its former glory (the new addition is a bonus!).
What are you reading at the moment? Currently I am reading and listening to Anxious People by Fredrik Backman. It is this month’s selection for our Walkabout Bookclub. I’m loving it – especially the narrator in the audio version. Come join us!
When not at work, what do you like to do? Any spare time I have is spent walking, baking and spending time with my family and our dog Bailey. I’ve just started researching my family history and am looking forward to visiting our archives for some assistance with some Woburn links I’ve discovered.
Stay tuned to meet more of our new staff and familiar faces.
