Service Record:
George L. Tebbetts, a resident of Burlington and shoemaker, enlisted at age 18 in the 1st Battallion Massachusetts Volunteer Heavy Artillery and mustered in on February 25, 1862. He was promoted to Corporal on May 1, 1863. He reenlisted on February 29, 1864 and was promoted to Sergeant on September 1, 1864. He mustered out on October 20, 1865.
