Orlando M. Brooks, a resident of Reading, MA employed as a shoemaker, enlisted at age 23, on August 5, 1864, as a Private in Company E, 1st Battalion Heavy Artillery and was mustered in on August 8, 1864. He mustered out on June 28, 1865.

Born: Reading, Mass. Oct. 2, 1840. Son of William and Elizabeth.
Married: Elizabeth C. Sanborn.
