Service Record:
Newell Z. Tabor, enlisted at age 29 as a Private in Company G, 5th Regiment Massachusetts Infantry, on August 25, 1862. He mustered in on September 16, 1862 and mustered out on July 2, 1863. He also enlisted as a Private at age 30 in Company K, 39th Regiment Massachusetts Infantry, mustering in on January 5, 1864. He was wounded on May 10, 1864, at Laurel Hill, Virginia and transferred on June 1865 to the 32nd Massachusetts Infantry. He transferred at age 30, on June 2, 1865, from the 39th Massachusetts Infantry, as a Corporal to Company E, 32nd Regiment Massachusetts Infantry, mustering out on June 29, 1865.

Born: Barton, Vt. May 22, 1833. s. of Person T. and Lucinda Batcheldor.
Married: Eliza S. Johnson of Newbury, Vt. Oct. 19, 1858.
Issue: Gertrude (1859) Haynes Johnson (1862) Alphonso Persons (1867)
Died: Woburn, Dec. 23, 1900.
