George G. Bruce, a shoemaker from Reading, enlisted at age 29, on Aug. 21, 1862, as a Private in the 50th Regiment Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry, Company D, mustering in on September 19, 1862. He mustered out on August 24, 1863.
