Lewis M. Calhoun, a resident of Roxbury employed as a baker, enlisted at the age of 30, on Aug. 26, 1862, as a Corporal in the 42nd Regiment Massachusetts Volunteers Infantry, Company D. He was mustered in on September 20, 1862 and taken prisoner on January 1, 1863 at Galveston, Texas. He was paroled and mustered out on Aug. 20, 1863.
