George W. Kimball, a Woburn resident employed as a carpenter, enlisted at age 35, on August 23, 1862, as a Private in Company G, 5th Regiment Massachusetts Infantry. He mustered in on September 16, 1862 and mustered out on July 2, 1863. He reenlisted as a Private at age 38 in Company G, 5th Regiment Massachusetts on July 21, 1864 and mustered in on July 27, 1864. He mustered out on Nov. 16, 1864.

Born: Wells, ME Oct. 4, 1826. s. of Wilberham and Deborah (Bourne).
Married: Maria Melvin of Woburn, Nov. 29, 1849.
Issue: Clara Maria (1850) George Edward (1853) Ann Elizza (1854) James Melvin (1857).
Died: Woburn, Sept. 13, 1892.
Note: Buried in Woodbrook Cemetery, Mt. Vernon Ave, Lot 776.
