Stephen R. Moreland, a resident of Woburn and yeoman (farmer) enlisted at age 35, on Aug. 10, 1861, in Company F, 22nd Regiment Massachusetts Volunteers and mustered in on the same day. He was discharged for disability on February 27, 1862 at Hall's Hill, Virginia.

Born: Methuen, Feb. 17, 1829. s. Amos & Linda Richardson.
Married: Sarah K. Johnson of Woburn, Feb. 28, 1845.
Issue: Alice M (1846) Leonard (1849) Arthur S (1859) Louise (1861)
Died: Soldiers Home, Chelsea, Oct. 19, 1912.
Note: Buried in Woodbrook Cemetery, Fern Path Lot 575.
