Service Record:
George E. Fowle, a resident of Woburn employed as a carpenter, enlisted at age 25, on June 21, 1862, as a Corporal in Company K, 39th Massachusetts Volunteers and mustered in on Aug. 22, 1862. He was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant on Jan. 15, 1865, and was not mustered in but wounded on February 6, 1865 at Hatcher's Run, Virginia. He was mustered out on May 18, 1865 while absent wounded as Sergeant.

Born: Reading, July 4, 1837 s. Edward & Deborah Parker.
Married: Eliza F. Caldwell of Woburn, July 13, 1865.
Issue: Carrie A (1866) Julia S (1868) Williard K. (1870)
Died: Woburn, July 6, 1917.
Note: Buried in Woodbrook Cemetery. Highland Ave, Lot 816.
