As in recent years, this year the Woburn Public Library will have tax forms available for residents.   We have the 1040, 1040A, 1040EZ and a number of schedules and forms.  Please ask for assistance if you do not see the form you need.

There have also been some changes to the distribution of MA instruction booklets.  The Department of Revenue is no longer printing and sending copies of instruction booklets to residents or to libraries.  As an institution, we have a limited number of instruction booklets available to be checked out for one week.  We also have photocopies of the instructions that can be purchased for a nominal fee, or you can download the instructions from the MA Department of Revenue’s website.

If you have any questions about tax forms available at the library, please call us at 781-933-0148.

Free income tax assistance preparation will be available for low to moderate income individuals at the Woburn Public Library, 45 Pleasant St., Woburn, on Saturday mornings from Feb. 5 through April 16.  Appointments will be between 9:15 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.  Local tax-aide volunteers, who are trained by AARP and certified by the IRS, will provide assistance with both federal and state tax forms.

Appointments are required, and space is limited. These appointments are available on a first come, first serve basis. As of February 17 all appointments are full. We have a waiting list in the event there are cancellations. Each one-on-one session will last approximately 45 minutes.  Participants should bring a copy of last year’s tax returns, as well as W-2s, 1099s and other documents necessary for tax form preparation.  Please call the Woburn Public Library at 781-933-0148 to be put on the waiting list.
