Who Can Participate?

  • Open to all adults of all reading levels, ages 18 and over.
  • Participants do not have to have library cards.
  • Participants do not have to be Woburn residents.

 

Important Dates

  • Pre-registration begins: Saturday, June 17 online or in the library
  • Summer Reading starts: Saturday, June 24
    Kick Off Event, the second annual Local Author Book Fair from 1-4 PM
  • Summer Reading ends: Saturday, August 12
    Wrap Up Party, Wildlife Encounters Global Tour from 1-4 PM

 

How Does It Work?
Read or participate in a library activity between Saturday, June 24 through Saturday, August 12 at 1pm to be eligible for prizes.  Complete a BINGO line or check off the whole board for extra chances to win!

  1. Register
    Register for summer reading online or in the library beginning Saturday, June 17. Anyone who pre-registers or registers during the Kick Off event will automatically be entered into the Kick Off raffle.
  2. Submit a Book Review
    Submit a book review online or in the library beginning Saturday, June 24. Each book review earns one raffle ticket.
    AND/OR!
  3. BINGO Cards
    Check off reading and activities on your BINGO card. When you get BINGO, show your ticket to the Circulation Desk to receive a raffle ticket.

    • 13 possible BINGOs per card
      • Each 5 box BINGO line earns one raffle ticket – horizontal line, vertical line, diagonal line
      • Completed BINGO cards earn an additional raffle ticket.
    • Fill out as many BINGO cards as you like. Additional copies are available online and at the Circulation Desk.
    • If a book qualifies for multiple BINGO boxes, it can be used for all applicable boxes. However, the same book cannot be used for the same box twice.  (For example, if you read Dracula by Bram Stoker with another person and submit a review, that can count for the “Read a book,” “Read a book with another person,” and “Submit a review” boxes, but it will not be counted for “Read a book” twice.

 

Raffles & Prizes

  • Anyone who pre-registers or registers during the Kick Off event will automatically be entered into the Kick Off raffles.
    • Movie Night Raffle: Showcase Cinemas Gift Card and Theater Snacks
    • Summer Fun Raffle: Free Summer Morning Clinic or Afternoon Clinic offered by the Woburn Recreation Department
  • Patrons are automatically entered into the weekly raffle every week they submit a review or submit a completed BINGO line.
  • For every book reviewed or BINGO line submitted over the summer, you will receive a raffle ticket towards the grand prize raffles on August 12.
    • Peppercorn House Raffle – $100 in Gift Certificates to Peppercorn House.
    • Market Basket Raffle – Find a choice recipe from the Shh! We’re Cooking library cookbook, then pick up the ingredients with a $50 Gift Card to Market Basket. Shopping totes included.
    • Fine Arts Kit Raffle – Hone your drawing skill with Prismacolor drawing supplies, Bob Ross accessories, and a summer reading tote bag.
    • Retro Raffle – Feel the 80s and 90s nostalgia with a Super Mario plushie, Pac Man lamp, Oregon Trail party game, and a Stranger Things and D&D graphic novel.
    • Pizza Party Raffle – Have fun with family and friends with some party games and two large pizzas from Andrea’s Pizza.
    • I ♥ Woburn Raffle – Show your Woburn pride with Woburn-themed paraphernalia.

 

What Books Count?

  • Format doesn’t matter – books, audiobooks, magazines, eBooks, etc. are all good.
  • Whether it’s reading a graphic novel, magazine, or listening to an audiobook, it counts!
  • All reading must occur within the program dates.
